5.9L & 6.7L Cummins H-Series Race Rod Bearings
Mahle H-series bearings were originally develped for NASCAR and are ideal for higher horespower diesel applications due to the harder materials used. High injection timing and boost pressures can cause the standard bearings to fail. H-Series bearings have no flash plating which is detrimental in high performance applications. They also have a medium level of eccentricity which helps keep bore deflection and deformation to a minimum. Higher crush helps to dissipate heat away from the bearing and helps keep the bearing from spinning in the bore under high load.
The addition of a dry film coating can help minimze added wear to the crankshaft caused by the harder bearing material. Coating also plays a very large part in preventing the bearing from seizing to the crank and spinning if contact is made between the crank and bearing.
We do not stock coated rod bearings for the later fractured style rods.
